BEEN THERE BUILT THAT
DOHA 2022, QA
In the run-up to the World Cup, Sheikh Chalid bin Chalifa bin Abdulasis Al Thani is having the country transformed. At this point, migrant workers make up 88% of Qatar's population. Most of them come from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, the Philippines, Pakistan and East Africa. They perform the (compulsory) hard labor necessitated by the restructuring plans for the mini-state proclaimed by the ruling royal family. They built this city, but hardly take place, they do not get much space. Traces of their existence are few.
